Adidas Predator 19+ Review

As an ex-footballer, the most important thing for your performance and confidence is your shoes. From personal experience, in the cases when I was playing with bigger size shoes or smaller or the shoe itself and in particular, the model was stiff, I never had a good game. Moreover, the role of the shoe in every football player has a vital impact on their performance on the pitch. Therefore we picked up one of the most famous football boots in the world – Adidas Predator 19+ for our constructive and honest review.

When I start competing on a higher level in my first professional boots were Adidas Predator Absolute TRX FG. I just felt in love with them. White and gold combined in a perfect way made with highest kangaroo leather. The sensation they gave me when I put them on my feet for an ideal fit I will never forget. So since then, I was always playing with Predator model until I gave up my football career.

With the time passing by and the rapid development of football world, Adidas Predator, Copa, Nike Mercurial and Tiempo are one of the long-lasting football shoe models which are only will get better with the years.

So let’s not waste your time anymore and give you the information you need.

Predator 19+ vs Predator 18 – The Look

Adidas Predator 18 itself was a successful model, but in comparison with Predator 19+, the change it’s not so big. The most significant change seems to be a light addition to the heel and some change around the ridges on the forefoot. Being the only two changes between these models, Adidas it’s trying to emphasise them by putting them in a place where they will be easily visible. Although to be frank without, those two changes you might think that the only thing that has been changed its the name of the boots.

Performance On the Pitch

In terms of performance on the field Predator 19+ performers exactly the same like Predator 18. With the PrimeKnit the Predator offers smooth feel on the ball, no matter whether you are playing in midfield, defence or attack. That model will give you consistent quality towards better touch on the ball in any situation. Even the ribbed parts on the boot will never make you feel that the boot its too thick and be an obstacle for better control on the ball.

The PrimeKnit still offers a good combination of being soft but thin enough to deliver what modern players demand from their boots. The only slight change it’s on the strip of exposing PrimeKnit that it runs where the typical tongue would sit. It’s still very soft but hitting the ball there gives you much more soft sensation that the ping of other parts of the boot doesn’t give you.

As much as there is a positive side about Predator 19+, it’s unavoidable not to share the negative side of this model. The laceless revolution that Adidas is trying to make with there all models, it’s one of the main issues and its called: lockdown. The main problem is that people who used this model claim that soccer cleats don’t provide the locked-in feeling and that the boots feel loose. Another negative thing is the extra movement that occurs on quick cuts or other intense movements. But for that reason, Adidas still offer a laced version of each laceless model, so if you are not happy with the laceless boots, you can switch easily to laced one.

To Buy or Not To Buy?

As I mentioned above, everything has pros and cons and the case its not any different here. I will list some of the reasons you might want to buy or not to buy these boots.

To buy:

  • Some of the professional football players say that Adidas soccer cleats are very comfortable and reliable.
  • The vast colour range of Predator 19+ so you can enjoy colours that haven’t seen on football boots
  • The weight of Predator 19+ it’s very light for that model, and it’s a significant advantage
  • Gives you close to perfection control on the ball
  • The eye-catching vision which it’s very important for modern football players

Not to buy:

  • Predator 19+ it’s very similar to Predator 18 and has slight changes in look wise and on the performance on the pitch
  • A lot of owners of this model also argue that the cleats don’t provide the needed locked in feeling
  • The price of those ultra-modern boots it’s very expensive, and not everyone can afford to have it

Its Conclusive, Adidas Predator 19+ Divide Opinions

Adidas Predator 19+ it’s very similar to Predator 18 as we already mentioned in terms of vision, feel and performance. So if you enjoyed and had fun with Predator 18, you definitely will like Predator 19+.

At the end of the day Predator 19+ it’s a decent soccer boot, so feel free to upgrade to the 19+ if you a fan of Predator line. But if you think that giving that considerable amount of money for a slightly updated version of Predator 18 it’s not worthed, than you can save some money and still enjoy the same quality of control, feel and performance.
